Exeter City v Leyton Orient

The Grecians' return to St James' Park after three away games and there are changes a plenty to the starting line up.New loan signings Hiley and Simpkins go straight into the starting line up and Cronin has to make do with a place on the bench.

A lovely sunny day at St James' Park sees the Grecians' start the game attacking the Cliff Bastin Stand and winning a corner straight from kick off.The Grecians' have started steadily playing the passing game.

After ten minutes Coppinger pulled the ball back to Jiley who whipped in a cross that was nodded down by Flack to Ampadu, slightly off balance hi scissor kicked the ball slightly too high and saw his effort end up on the terraces.

After eighteen minutes Campbell-Ryce was put through, he struck the ball from the edge of the area and Big Kev safely and securely held onto the ball.A minute later and Goodman beat Miller for pace but Morris was off his line quickly to deny Don.

We then had a lengthy delay as the referees assistant twised his ankle and had to be replaced by the fourth official.Twenty five minutes in and Simpkins somehow got to a cross and the keeper pulled off a fantastic one handed save to deny the City the lead.

On the half hour Coppinger won the ball on the edge of the bock, his shot deflected off the defence and came to Flack who hit his shot on the turn to see it go narrowly wide of the post.Thirty eight minutes gone and Roscoe pulled in a deep cross over the keeper but Flack got under the ball and headed agonisingly over the bar.

After forty three minutes an onslaught on the Orient goal by Coppinger ended with Walker striking a rasping twenty yarder which he did exceptionally well to keep down being saved by Glenn Morris in the opposing goal.

Half Time Score: Exeter City 0-0 Leyton Orient

The second half starts with no changes as the Grecians' attack the Away Terrace. Two minutes in and City were saved as Scott Hiley cleared a corner off of the line. The first stages of the second half have been very dull with no action.

On the hour mark Flack beat the offside trap but ran too wide, he pulled the ball back to Andy Roscoe who swung in a great ball that was met by the head of Don Goodman.Stooping to head the ball his effort flashed high of the goal.

After sixty eight minutes Don Goodman was put through and Matthew Joseph brought him down inside the area to earn City a penalty and get himself a red card.Justin Walker stepped up and smashed the ball down the middle of the goal to give City the lead.

Seventy eight minutes in and City won a free kick on the right wing, the ball was swung into the unmarked Goodman who played the ball to Flack swivelling the keeper somehow again managed to drag the ball to safety.

Into stoppage time at the end of the game and McConnell should have sealed the game beyond doubt as he beat the offside and had a free run on goal but his shot was weak and the keeper saved with his legs.
