City fans generous Food Bank donations support the local community

26 October 2016

All donations make a real difference to people’s lives in the local community

City fans have donated a total of 167.3kg of food and sundries to the Exeter Food Bank between April and October 2016; the equivalent of 403 regular tins of beans, or 334 loaves of bread.

Thank you to everyone who has so generously given food to help feed local people in crisis. The food you have collected is making a very real difference to many people’s lives in Exeter.

Exeter Food Bank was started in 2008 to help local people who had been affected by the financial crisis and subsequent downturn in the economy, they now operate with over a hundred volunteers, who are involved in every aspect of the daily running. Last year, 4,668 three-day emergency food supplies were given to local people in crisis.

If you would like to donate to the Exeter Food Bank there is a donation point at reception at St James Park. Donations can be made during reception opening hours of Monday to Friday, 8.30am-5.30pm.

All donations are greatly appreciated, but the following items are of particularly high priority:
  • Potatoes – tinned
  • Rice (500g)
  • Fruit Juice – 1L Long life
  • Cereals – small boxes
  • Milk - UHT 1L semi-skimmed
