Club statement on incident at Exeter City's friendly against Taunton Town

Following an incident at Tuesday night's friendly with Taunton Town, when smoke pellets were thrown onto the pitch, the club have released the following statement.

Exeter City chairman Julian Tagg, said: “The club has been made aware of the use of smoke pellets from a small minority of travelling fans at Exeter City’s game away at Taunton Town on Tuesday night. The club would like to state on record that it has a zero tolerance of such behaviour and we remind our supporters – as player-coach Danny Butterfield did during the match – of this.

“On behalf of the fans, the club would like to apologise to Taunton Town and to any supporter at the game for the disturbance this incident caused. We will also be in touch with the safety officer, both at Taunton Town and Exeter City, regarding the incident.”
