Lee Holmes Named Player of the Year

2 May 2016

Winger receives just shy of 28% of the total vote

EXETER CITY fans have voted winger Lee Holmes as their 2015/16 Player of the Season.

Holmes was a consistent performer on the field throughout the campaign and a popular person off it, with goals at the likes of Accrington Stanley and Mansfield Town coupled with special moments like his hokey-cokey with City fans following the Grecians' 2-0 win at Yeovil Town in April.

The undoubted highlight of Lee's season was of course the goal direct from a corner against Liverpool in the Emirates FA Cup Third Round, shown live on the BBC to millions of viewers worldwide.

Thank you to everyone who voted - we received a whopping 1,466 votes altogether, with Lee leading the way on 389. Second place went to Bobby Olejnik, who amassed 254 votes, while Ollie Watkins took third on 191.

Lee received the award on the pitch following today's match against Morecambe, though a formal presentation will take place at the club's End of Season Euro Ball on Sunday May 8th.
