Truro extended their unbeaten run in the league to five games on Saturdat with a 1-0 victory at St Albans. Steve Tully's men have lost only once in their last seventeen league matches, which sees them lying sixth in the table, equal on points with fourth place.
It wasn't a straightforward match for the Cornish side, as their bottom-of-the-league-opponents carved out numerous chances throughout the game. Resolute defending, of which Connor was part of, and excellent goalkeeping from former Grecian Martin Rice kept the hosts at bay and earned Truro their 10th clean sheet of the season.

Matt was lively in the few attacking chances Truro did have against St Albans. He set up their clearest chance of the first half, which whistled narrowly past the post, and he was also available for a tap-in when Isaac Vassell burst into the area in the second half, but Truro's top-scorer opted to plant it in the corner instead.

After Truro had entertained us with an eight-goal thriller in last week's report, Weston went one better, as the 408 spectators that gathered at Hemel Hempstead's Vauxhall Road were treated to an incredible 5-5 draw. The hosts couldn't have asked for a better start to the match, taking a three goal lead just before the half hour mark. However, Joe McClennan helped Weston back into the tie, setting up Dayle Grubb on forty minutes and then forcing Ben Herd to put past his own 'keeper just three minutes later. The Hertfordshire side had the final say in a frantic opening half though, going straight down the other end and restoring their two-goal advantage.
Within a minute of the second half kick-off, McClennan again caused problems, forcing the keeper to parry a shot into the path of Scott Wilson, who duly obliged to put Weston within touching distance once more. And with just over an hour gone, Dayle Grubb doubled his tally with a superb free-kick on the edge of the box to make it 4-4. The drama was far from over though, as a poor pass back to Weston's 'keeper was pounced on by Montgomery to make it 5-4, and Scott Wilson was shown a straight red for lashing out after a foul. The hosts then had a chance to put the game to bed cleared off the line. It would prove costly, as the magnificent McClennan skipped past several challenges to set up Plummer in the 89th minute and earn his side a valuable point in their fight against relegation.
Byrne was once again involved for the entire game, continuing his development as an established first-team player.

It's been a tough season for Jason, but his patience has paid off as he started his first game since early October and played his first full ninety minutes of the season. He'll now be hoping he can continue to help Weston in their fight against relegation, who sit one point above the drop zone with two games in hand.
