Trevor Kettle to oversee Iron fixture

We’ll be calling Trevor Kettle the man in black when Scunthorpe United arrive at St James Park on Saturday for the last game at home in Sky Bet League 2 of Exeter City’s 2013/14 campaign.

The last Exeter City game that Kettle oversaw was the Grecians’ 3-0 reverse at the hands of Cheltenham Town at Whaddon Road last season, when Lawson D’Ath – who would later join Exeter on loan – scored a wondergoal for the Robins.

Kettle has overseen two other Exeter City fixtures – a 2-1 home win against Walsall in 2010, and a goalless draw against Saturday’s opponents Scunthorpe on the opening day of the 2011/12 League 1 season.

The Rutland-based referee has one Scunthorpe fixture this season, as the Iron beat Portsmouth 2-1 at Fratton Park.  He has brandish 111 yellow cards and four reds – the latest dismissal came in his last outing, as Fleetwood’s Alan Goodall was shown a straight red against Wycombe on Easter Monday.
