Will Hoskins signs for Exeter City

Striker becomes a Grecian after a successful trial

EXETER CITY can confirm that striker Will Hoskins has signed for the club following a successful trial.

Will joins the Grecians after his release by Oxford United at the end of last season, and will officially become an Exeter City player on August 1st.

The 29-year-old burst onto the scene with Rotherham United before moving to Sky Bet Championship side Watford alongside then-team-mate Lee Williamson for a seven-figure fee in 2007.

Another good goal-scoring spell followed, this time with Bristol Rovers in 2010-11, but he signed for Brighton & Hove Albion after the Gas’s relegation from League 1 at the end of that campaign.

Injury curtailed much of his season with League 2 side Oxford last year, but after impressing on trial with Exeter City this summer, the Nottingham-born frontman has now put pen-to-paper at St James Park.

City manager Paul Tisdale expressed his delight at Will’s decision to join the club, saying: “Will is a player that we have pursued for some time.

“He may have had a difficult time over the past couple of seasons with injuries, but he really has impressed us in his short time here on trial.

“We won’t expect too much from him too soon – He will be competing for a place on the bench for the time being as we look to ease him back to match fitness.”

Will is now pushing for a place in the match-day squad ahead of the big 2015/16 campaign kick-off against Yeovil Town at St James Park on Saturday 8th August – ticket details can be found here.

He will wear the number 16 shirt.
