FANS BLOG: Make Us Proud

So we go from mid-table looking up, to bottom four and looking down.

The mood swings of an Exeter City supporter are worse than...(thinks twice about comment).

All this talk of the team not being good enough?! Nonsense. We have put in some very good performances that prove we are good enough for this level.

What we haven't shown in recent times, is the heart for a good battle and a scrap!

To field 10 outfield players with Stanno like energy levels, and now that he's injured we haven't even got him to set the bar at a high level for others to match.

So someone needs to step up. This is where Tisdale has to prove his value as a manager and a man-manager.

There is no doubt in my mind that this team is good enough to compete, and that Paul Tisdale is a good enough technical manager to guide this team further, yet what we have lacked is something to burn fire in the bellies of our team, that will get them out there from the off and play 90 minutes of high tempo, high urgency football.

We saw what happens when our team has that fire against Leeds. It seems League One survival is perhaps not enough for them, and if that is the case then it's not their ability that needs to be questioned, but their character.

They should be proud to where the shirt, they should be proud to play for a team that has supporters willing to reach deep within their pockets to keep this club going, and they should be proud of where they have got to in the footballing pyramid and therefore take pride in keeping themselves there.

Come on boys, make us proud, but more importantly, make yourselves proud!
