U9s - U16s
Under 9s v Plymouth Argyle - AWAY - Won 6 - 2
Exeter City Under 9's certainly saved their best display until last. From the first minute Exeter were on the front foot, pressing and harrying Plymouth into making mistakes. Then when in possession City made their opponents suffer with some very quick passing moves. George Rae opened the scoring, finishing a fine move, Oliver Payne had an excellent game and scored a fine hat-trick, Austin Sample scored on his debut with a fiercely struck shot and Archie Collins finished the scoring to complete rout.
Man of the Match - Oliver Payne
Under 10s v Plymouth Argyle - AWAY - Lost - Lost 3 - 1
Exeter battled hard but were second best to a Plymouth side that showed clinical finishing. For large periods City pinned the Pilgrims in their own half but could not add to the goal scored by Mika Morgan which equalised the opening strike by Argyle. Plymouth on the other hand capitalised on two break-aways in the last couple of minutes to snatch victory.
Man of the Match - Will Richards
Under 11s v Plymouth Argyle - HOME - Lost 2 - 0
Exeter found it hard to get into the game from the outset, which led to Plymouth taking the lead. However the Grecians passing started to flow and Exeter came back into the game only to concede against the run of play again. Despite dominating the
later stages of the game City failed to make an impact on the score sheet. There were positive performances from Jake Welch in defence and Callum Hutchings in midfield.
Under 12s v Plymouth Argyle - HOME - Lost 4 - 3
Another poor start to a match ruined Exeter's chances of getting the win that they deserved for their excellent second half performance. A lack of concentration saw Exeter go 3-0 down in the first half but Lewis Hayward scored an excellent solo effort which seemed to inspire Exeter to play to their excellent potential. Louis Cane lobbed the keeper to make it 3-2 and then Connor Riley-Lowe shot into the top corner to level the match. Despite a host of chances to win the game Exeter ended up conceding a goal against the run of play in the final minute to go down 4-3.
Man of the Match - Lewis Hayward
Under 13s v Plymouth Argyle - HOME - Lost 2 - 0
After conceding two sloppy goals early on Exeter took the game to Plymouth and were unfortunate not to get something out of the match. Callum Ellis, Andrew
Parker and Matt Clark all had strong games for the Grecians.
Under 14s v Plymouth Argyle - AWAY - Lost 1- 0
Exeter started poorly conceding early in the first period but quickly improved in the remaining periods and dominated most of the game. Jamie Reid was influential and was unlucky not to score while Jake Allen came close on more than one occasion, however, it proved not to be Exeter's day.
Under 15s v Plymouth Argyle - AWAY - Won 1 - 0
This was a thoroughly deserved victory that built on the fine performance at Bristol a week earlier. Lewis Coombes again proved a handful for the opposition as City levelled the season series against Argyle at 2 wins and 2 losses each. Coombes finished well for what proved to be the winning goal and for a second successive week the defence, in which Dan Cooke stood out, held firm to keep a clean sheet.
Under 16s v Plymouth Argyle - HOME - Drew 1 - 1
The Grecians improved on last weeks display against Bristol and finished a good season on a positive note. A lapse in concentration allowed Argyle's goal as an attempted headed back pass was intercepted. City's goal on the other hand was extremely well worked with Noah Keats starting the move in midfield, working his way out of a tight area and driving forward, exchanging passes with the centre forwards and slipping the ball neatly past the Plymouth keeper. Exeter played another new formation, 4-3-1-2, and the City back 4 played very well with Liam Ellis impressive in the centre of defence. Jack Langford and Sean Holden's work rate in midfield gave the team a platform to go on from and Roger Ingham put in a good display off the bench.
Man of the Match - Liam Ellis
