Exeter City's five youth sides all took on Plymouth Argyle this weekend and only one age group came out on the losing side.

The Under 12's were the only age group to be beaten while the Under 9's lost just one of their eight against their rivals.

Under 10's Plymouth Argyle 2-3 Exeter City

The young Exeter boys took 15 minutes to get going even though they saw themselves go one nil up when Connor Balment followed in from close range.

Exeter played some excellent football and Harry Kite scored on the half hour quickly followed by a great strike from Dillon Alford.

Nathan Townsend looked good going forward as did Dillon Alford and Plymouth scored twice right at the end but couldn't earn a draw.

Exeter City came out on top over four 8-a-side games played in Plymouth.

The highlight was a wonder goal with three first time passes between Owen Haslam, Jack Thomas, Jordan Brooks & Audie Campbell, with Audie side footing the ball home.

Under 12's Exeter City 2-10 Plymouth Argyle

City found themselves 5 - 1 down after the first two periods with a lack of work rate and sloppy passing contributing to their downfall.

Exeter looked a changed team in the third period as they stepped up their work rate and desire to get on the ball. Brandon Green scored a well placed finish to bring City back into the game. Tiredness and individual defensive errors saw Plymouth extend their lead in the final period. Man of the match Will Richards showed fantastic desire and work rate throughout the game while many others did not.

Under 14's Exeter City 4-3 Plymouth Argyle

The opening period saw City at their best with some slick passing and movement. An early own goal, a Jake Chisholm header and a cool finish from Ollie Watkins saw City comfortably take a 3-0 lead.

The visitors were clearly stung into action and as City became sloppy the game swung in Argyle's favour. City were suddenly second best in every department and after conceding a soft goal they soon found it increasingly difficult to get any control.

A second goal followed at the end of the second period and City were rattled. The third period was only minutes old when a square defence was exposed with a neat one-two and a long range effort beat the home keeper to level things up.

City did at last respond and the diminutive Lewis Hayward got in behind the Argyle defence and slotted the ball home to put City back in front.

Further chances to put the game beyond Argyle's reach were missed but City hung on. After a blistering start, a woeful middle part to the game and a even finale it showed the City lads that they need to remain focused and concentrate from first whistle to last.
