City worked hard to play a solid passing game of football and created many chances from good build up play but Yeovil scored a breakaway goal in the third period. A second in the last period gave them breathing space but City fought back well to reduce the lead with an excellent solo effort from Will Dean. Yeovil's keeper had an outstanding game thwarting 27 shots on goal throughout the game.

Exeter started the game looking very lively and busy and at the end of the first quarter they were comfortably 3-0 up and playing some excellent passing football.

Dylan Halford converted a cross for Exeter to go one up and then good play from Owen Haslam and Halford set Connor Balment up to score Exeter's second. A good run out of the defense followed by a great ball by Sam Haynes set up Dylan Halford who sent a lovely chip over the advancing goalkeeper for his second.

The second and third quarters were end to end with lots of chances being created. Exeter were defending bravely with goalkeeper Scott Walker making some impressive saves including one from the penalty spot.

Yeovil pulled one goal back before good pressure on the Yeovil goal allowed Owen Haslam to slot home to maintain the three goal advantage.

Exeter conceded from a corner to reduce the score line to 4-2 but further goals from Connor Balment and Ollie Jarrett allowed Exeter to win this game comfortably despite another late goal from the home side.

This was another impressive early season display from Exeter. Their composure on the ball and mentality to pass in all areas of the pitch was excellent to watch. City took the lead in the first period when Max Smallcombe slotted home a Cam Hargreaves corner. Jack Thomas made it 2 - 0 when he tapped home from close range after a lovely cross from Sam Phillips.

Yeovil pulled one back after some poor marking from a corner, but Exeter regained their two goal advantage with the move of the match which resulted in Rudi Small's through ball being fired home by Sam Phillips.

Under 13's Yeovil Town 1-8 Exeter City

The opening exchanges were fairly even before City gradually took control, without being able to create a scoring opportunity. But six minutes into the second period, Jack Mills struck the opener for City and two minutes later Toby Down headed a second from a corner and City were on their way.

In the third and final periods, goals were added by Mustafa Rehemi, Will Richards headed home from an Ollie Snow corner, Tom Scadding, Brandon Green a penalty after Jack Mills had been tripped cutting in from the bye-line, Mika Morgan and Ollie Jay.

Eight goals from eight different scorers before Yeovil got a consolation goal two minutes from full time to spoil City's clean sheet. It was particularly pleasing to see the City goalkeeper and defence confident and composed enough to keep the ball and play out from the back and lay the foundation for a good team performance.

Exeter City played against a very direct Yeovil side on a blustery morning. At times Exeter's passing game caused problems in midfield but they failed to make a mark in the final third. Yeovil were always a threat with the long ball and new signing Dan Lavercombe made some tremendous saves. Alex Byrne scored Exeter's goal which was a clever follow up from a Dean Billingsly shot.

Man of the Match - Dan Lavercombe.

Under 16's Exeter City 1-1 Yeovil Town

Exeter put in a battling performance against a very physical Yeovil team. The first half was lacking in any real penetration with Exeter rushing the final ball.

Just before half time both of the games goals were scored, a great strike from Dan Way putting Exeter ahead. But a lack of concentration from a set piece saw Yeovil equalise.

The second half was much better in quality and work rate from Exeter, who had several chances to take the lead. The introduction of Sean Goss in front of the back four worked to great effect.
