          HOME v Cheltenham Town  - Drew 2 - 2

City started brightly with some good passing in midfield and it was not long before they took the lead. The game could have been sewn up before Cheltenham brought themselves back into it with City missing numerous chances. City continued to pass the ball well and where unfortunate to go 2 -1 down but soon equalised. This was by far the best performance of the season, credit to all the boys. Especially good performances came from Jamie Harkness, Ben Steer, Jake Sillifant and Jake Moore Taylor.

A slow start to the game saw us go a goal down but Lewis Sanders scored just before the break. We began to dominate with some good passing football and Geogre Bennett (2) and Josh Kite gave us a 4-1 lead. Although Cheltenham pulled one back Sean Goss and another two from Bennett gave us a commanding lead before Cheltenham's final consolation effort.

Good performances from Louis Gallagher, Peter Taylor and Sean Goss.

Cheltenham took a commanding lead in this game with two disputable penalties

and despite a good performance City were never able to force their way back into the match.  Trailing 4  - 0 Exeter continued to press forward and thoroughly deserved a penalty of their own, well won by Matt Clark, that was tucked away by Liam Watson.

Exeter were unlucky not to win this game having taken an early lead through Jack O'Neill.  Lapses in concentration allowed Cheltenham to go 2 - 1 ahead but City responded well and equalised with Connor White scoring a half volley from 20 yards.  Poor concentration allowed Cheltenham to score again and despite good pressure Exeter couldn't force the result they deserved.

For large parts of this match City were the better side and the boys worked extremely hard throughout.  Although Exeter had large spells of possession we lacked a cutting edge this week.

A hard fought first half saw the scores at 0-0 however as the visitors tired more space opened up for Exeter.  City took the lead after a Kyle Bassett cross was finished by Callum Somers and went 2-0 up when Somers finished off a counter attack.  A late corner and goalmouth scramble gave the visitors a deserved consolation.

Exeter performed very well and dominated the match from start to finish, having missed four or five excellent chances we went a goal down against the run of play.  City responded well and Steve Martin gave us an equaliser with an accomplished finish.  The winner came after a very good team move, rounded off by James Berry who beat two players on the edge of the box before slotting home.

A deserved victory for City and a good response after last weeks poor performance.  Sam Peardon worked hard in midfield and created time and space for Luke Cole to pull the strings.  Trialist Joe Allinson caused problems up front and was involved in both goals.  Scot Bennett was outstanding in defence.

Man of the Match - Luke Cole.
