Match reports from the U9s - U13s

Under 9's
HOME v Swansea - Lost 4 - 1
Another encouraging display from City as the lads adapt to playing at a much higher standard than they are used to. Exeter's goal came from Jack Mills who received the ball 20 yards out but with only one thought in his mind a powerful shot beat the Swans keeper. Nathan Aiston and Will Richards was impressive in midfield.
Man of the Match - Nick Grimes
Under 10's
HOMW v Swansea - Lost 5 - 2
Having gone 4-0 down in the first period to a Swansea side who started the match with more desire Exeter responded brilliantly and showed that they could match the physical approach of their opponents. In the second period City scored twice through Ollie Avery-Wright and a Callum Hutchings header but hit the woodwork and forced numerous saves from the Swans keeper and were unlucky not to take the lead. George Brown was strong in defence and Jack Hocking looked lively upfront.
Man of the Match - Ollie Avery-Wright
Under 11's
AWAY v Swansea - Drew 3 - 3
City set about this match with a new determination and excelled at putting this weeks work in training onto the pitch. Out of the blocks much quicker than the home side City took a 3-0 lead through Louis Cane (2) and Peter Taylor and were good value for it having dominated the match. An unfortunate own goal allowed Swansea back into the game and with renewed confidence they found an equaliser at 3-3. Exeter continued to work for a winner and were unlucky when the referee adjudged an effort from Isaac Furness did not cross the line with the keeper beaten.
Man of the Match - Jacob Tinsley
Under 13's
HOME v Kingskerswell - Won 8 - 0
Another good performance from the in form Under 13's who set about this match with a good attitude. The goals were shared around the team with credit to the Matt Long in goal and the back four for the clean sheet. Good performances came from Matt Golding, Jacob Cane and Jack Baxter. Our thanks go to Kingskerswell for their efforts and we wish them luck for the season.
