Dean Moxey Signs For Derby
Exeter City left-back Dean Moxey today signed for Derby County for an undisclosed fee on a three-year deal.
Fans favourite Moxey will now get the chance to play Championship football with Nigel Clough's side next season after he passed a medical.
Moxey came through the ranks at St James Park and he broke into the first-team under Eammon Dolan following the club's relegation to the Conference in 2003.
He made his debut at Accrington Stanley in October 2003 and quickly became an essential member of the first team squad.
Moxey's first goal came during a 3-2 thriller with Leigh RMI and a week later he opened his account with City's opening goal in a pulsating 2-2 draw with Shrewbury at Gay Meadow.
Moxey played a huge role in securing Exeter's financial future after his stunning strike against Doncaster Rovers in the FA Cup 2nd Round set up the lucrative clash at Old Trafford against Manchester United.
As well as facing the Red Devils twice for City, Moxey has been victorious at Wembley and played a vital role in City's promotion to League One.
Moxey made 155 appearances for the Grecians, scoring 24 goals, and the club wishes him all the best at Derby County.

Dean talked to Derby County's website this afternoon following his move and the 23-year-old talked of his love for Exeter City.
"I'm an Exeter lad and I've loved my time there," he said. "I would only ever have left to a club I believed would give me the opportunity to progress my career to a higher level.
"It's a massive club that has huge potential and I'm looking forward to being part of a squad that will try to fulfill it."
His new manager Nigel Clough described his delight at Derby's latest signing.
"Dean is a very exciting player who we have known about and admired for some time," he said.
"He's enjoyed back to back promotions at Exeter as a key member of that team and has the hunger and desire to play at a higher level.
"His attitude and character is spot on and he's expressed his aspiration to improve and fight for a place in our team."
Exeter fans will have a chance to say their farewell's to their homegrown hero on July 25th when Derby County travel to the Park.
