City Victory at Carlisle In Numbers

Posted on: Thu 27 Aug 2009

1 -The number of goals at Brunton Park after City proved to be incredibly hard to break down and Paul Tisdale's game plan was spot on.

2 - The game was the second appearance of the season for Barry Corr. The striker has been bothered by injuries in recent seasons but has a very impressive goal record and his manager Paul Tisdale recently told the Official Website how he expects the targetman to prove popular with the fans now he has returned from his ban.

3 - The number of penalties Marcus Stewart has now scored for the Grecians and all away from home. The 36-year-old has netted at Carlisle, Notts County and Rochdale.

4 - City have now scored and conceded four goals in League One this season in four games.

5 - Number of points City have accumulated after four matches, one more than at this point last season where we had beaten Bournemouth, drawn with Darlington but lost to Shrewsbury and Luton at the Park.

10 -City's position in League One following yesterday's win. Seven points behind first and thirteen ahead of Southampton. The Grecians now host the MK Dons on Saturday who currently sit three points ahead of City in sixth position.

18 - The number of games it has been since City failed to score in the Football League. The last stalemate coming at Chester's Diva Stadium in mid February.

29 - The squad number of loan signing Troy Archibald-Henville described by many at yesterday's game as man of the match.

75 - Yesterday's victory took Paul Tisdale's win tally in charge of City to 75 wins from 162 games. Under his management the team has also drawn 44 and lost 43 matches.

250 - Marcus Stewart's career goal tally after his ice cool penalty at Brunton Park. This fantastic feat has been achieved in 638 games.

266 - The official number of Exeter City fans in the away end (or side!) at Carlisle. This is a superb turnout given the incredible distance involved and I am sure the players and management appreciated their loyal supporters turning up in their numbers.

693 - The number of miles from St James Park to Carlisle and back. Quite a day out!
