Paul Tisdale spoke to the press yesterday ahead of Exeter City's First Round tie with Nuneaton.
Our manager was head coach at Team Bath when they made the record books in 2002 by reaching this stage.
"It is a renowned competition and one everyone looks at and considers to be a highly acclaimed tournament so any cup run at any level is fantastic.
I have experienced it as a player, as a non-league coach and now here at Exeter and each FA Cup game holds as much excitement and potential reward at the rest.
We have managed to find out as much about them as can be expected. It is simply a case of networking and finding out their strengths but I think the crux of it will be how we perform.
I think we have to realise that they have won a number of games to get to this point and they are on a Cup run.
You don't get to the First Round as a non-league club unless you have some form and a competitive spirit.
No doubt Nuneaton will have that and I am very much looking forward to the game.
It is going to be a big game for them and I am sure they are expecting to give it a very good go and I will be surprised if we don't have a very good game.
I won't refer to the Curzon match, we experienced that disappointment last year and those that were part of it will be slightly scared from the disappointment that day.
We are well aware of what can happen if we aren't at our best, I don't think I will need to play on it too much.
There was no excuses last year but that is a long time ago and we are a different team now and every week is different at the moment. And I have to try to utilise the players as I see them.
It has been a long wait since last November but it's such a fabulous competition and everyone wants a run and I am no different and we have not had a run for a while."
