Minute's Applause Tomorrow For Former Boss

There will be a minute's applause before tomorrow's game against Stockport (3pm kick off) in memory of former Exeter City manager Brian Godfrey who died last week.

Brian Godfrey, aged 69, passed away in hospital near his home in Cyprus after a lengthy and courageous battle against Leukaemia.

He became Exeter boss in January 1979 and stayed in the hot seat until June 1983.

He led his exciting Grecians side to ninth and eight placed finishes before resigning at the end of his third campaign in charge.

His most famous achievement during his time at St James' Park was the famous 1980/81 FA Cup run that took the Grecians to the quarter-final stage.
