pitch in

Exeter City Legends, Scott Hiley and Barry McConnell are backing the Pitch in for City campaign to provide a new playing surface for next season.

They will be raising money and providing their support as the 'faces' of the 'Pitch in for City Great West Run' Group. The aim is to recruit as many runners as possible to raise sponsorship money in support of the Pitch in campaign.

Legendary Grecians full back Scott Hiley wants as many City fans as possible to join Barry and himself in forming a 'sea of red and white on the start line for the Great West Run which takes place on Sunday 2nd May.

Scott said, "That pitch holds many special memories for me over many years of playing at St. James Park. However, I would like to play my part to help raise the funds needed to get the pitch improved". Former City Player of the Year, Barry McConnell said he was also delighted to help in any way he could and is hoping to run a personal best in this year's Great West Run.

Barry said, Scott and I would encourage anyone to join our team of runners - Any City fans who are planning on running the event, fun runners, or anyone who wants to support the Pitch in campaign is welcome. We would love to see a team of one hundred Exeter fans hitting the streets on the 2nd May".

For your chance to join with a pair of Exeter City Legends and raise money for a new pitch at St. James Park you will need to apply for a 'Pitch in for City' application form by Sunday 28 March as entries need to be submitted to the Great West Run by 2nd April. Each runner will receive a special edition Pitch in for City Great West Run T-Shirt, and be eligible to participate in the run for the reduced entry of £30.
