Exeter City Director Of Football Steve Perryman is looking forward to opening the campaign at St James' Park for the first time since 2004.
On Day One in the last few years the Grecians have headed to York, Darlington, Gravesend & Northfleet, Altrincham and of course Leeds United.
But the 2010/11 curtain-raiser sees them host Colchester United on the new pitch at The Park and Steve, talking exclusively to the Official Website, is already looking forward to it.
"It is great to start with a home game," he said.
"We've headed to York and places like that so that is a nice little bit of a change.
"It hasn't happened for a long time and Colchester are a team that are fresh in our minds having just played them a month or two ago so we can take some confidence from that victory.
"They'll be bringing a new manager with them for his first game which always adds an extra element."

After that match City host Ipswich Town in the Carling Cup on the Tuesday night (7:45pm kick off) before a trip to Dagenham & Redbridge.
"Ipswich at home is mouth-watering," he said.
"We have not done so well in the cups have we and we need to change that.
"Fans will be able to see Roy Keane in the flesh with a good Ipswich team and they will be a lot stronger this season than they were last year now he can get his teeth into them.
"And it will be nice to lock horns with Dagenham again, we have had some good tussles there."

The fixture list has thrown up its usual mix of interesting scenarios and Steve ran us through a few of them.
"We had some good fixtures against Swindon last year so we are looking forward to meeting them on Boxing Day," he explained.
"And having the Bristol Rovers and Swindon games on a Saturday I like. We missed out a bit last year with those although having said that the Rovers home and Swindon away games were little turning points.
"Going to Carlisle on the 28th December and then to Southampton on the 1st will be a test. But it could be worse, Southampton isn't too terrible.
"Carlisle could have been better, it will be a late night getting back then trying to work out the best plans for the days in-between those games.
"And of course Plymouth Argyle is the one everyone is looking forward to and overall it is all bubbling up now ahead of the season and you cross a line towards pre-season when the fixtures come out."

Talk soon turned to the recent changes to our squad with Billy Jones rejoining after a spell at Crewe and the duo of Scott Golbourne and Bertie Cozic signing new deals.
Steve believes this continuity is crucial to the club's search for success and despite missing out on the signing of George Friend he believes the squad is already looking healthy with six weeks still to go until the new season.
Steve said: "Billy's left-foot will be a nice one to see again, and we all know about superb delivery from corners, penalties and free kicks.
"It adds to the healthy look of our back-line. It was a shame about George Friend but we were beaten by a Championship club and you can understand his thinking behind that one.
"I think the continuity in the squad has been on of Paul's strengths, he doesn't like wholesale changes does he? He likes consistency and flow from one season to another."
