Exeter City midfielder Bertie Cozic extended his contract at the club earlier this week and speaking to Grecian Player in an exclusive seven minute interview he pinpointed the good feeling around the squad as one of the key reasons behind his decision.

"Paul respects players and if you respect players and know how to talk to them then you will have a good spirit in the team and the squad because of it," he told the Player team.

"Because of this they respect him whatever decisions he is going to make.

"I want to feel good inside the squad and through the years you learn with Paul and his coaches,"

"And you enjoy it, when you enjoy it you express yourself.

"The way he talks he makes sense, he isn't saying stupid things. That is why he's been such a success."

Bertie, a proud Frenchman, also reflected on the huge problems facing his international side in South Africa.

When we spoke to Bertie Le Bleus just drawn 0-0 with Uruguay. Since then things have only got worse and after a 2-0 defeat against Mexico they look set for an early exit.

"Football is about expressing yourself, enjoying being surrounded by team-mates or playing for the manager and I think we have issues there with the French team," he explained.

"They didn't show any passion, any intensity or play for each other.

"When you wear the French shirt you should fight for it, go out and have pride in wearing it. It is not just down to the manager, the players have got to do their bit.

"If you don't like the manager that is one thing but once you are on the pitch you are representing the country and that is the way they have to think."
