New City striker Daniel Nardiello believes the move to St James Park is the perfect one for him after a number of injury-hit seasons.
The former Manchester United youngster was a Championship regular for Barnsley before a string of injuries both at Blackpool and also during loan spells at various clubs limited his chances for regular football.
But after chatting to the club's medical team and seeing a specialist in Denmark over the summer the 27-year-old spoke is confident his injury nightmare is behind him.
"The last few years have been a nightmare to be honest with you," he admitted.
"All the injuries are related, it is usually around the hips and the back and I've had problems with the groin and hamstring.
"But the physios here and the training regime have already helped me though and I feel like my injuries are behind me.
"I needed to get away from Blackpool and start afresh and prove myself, Exeter was the perfect place to come.
"I feel fresh and ready to go."

Nardiello may already be friendly with David Noble, Richard Duffy and Richard Logan but he admitted he didn't know that much about the club itself.
That all changed after a chat to his family in the area as well as Paul Tisdale which helped persuade him that Exeter was the place for him.
"I have got family who live close by who have told me that Exeter play a lot of football that suits my game, it just seemed like the right move for me" he said.
"There was a few other clubs interested but to be honest it was the manager that persuaded me to come here.
"Everything was positive. He came up and he spent a lot of time explaining to me how it is and how they play.
"He convinced me to come. He seems like a top bloke and I'm looking forward to playing for him.
"I'm a player who likes linking up with the midfield, getting in behind and running at players. When I'm fit I tend to score goals so hopefully I can get plenty for Exeter this year."
Nardiello will wear the number 10 shirt, vacated by Craig McAllister, and the full list of squad numbers were revealed this morning.
