FITC Apprenticeship Scheme

Exeter City FC Football in the Community Trust are opening their doors to the local community in a bid to provide local youngsters the opportunity to gain a range of qualifications.

Exeter City FC Football in the Community Trust will be holding a Level 2 course in Sport Recreation and Allied Occupations. The scheme will be delivered in partnership with Luis Michael Training.

This is an Exeter City FC Football in the Community Trust apprenticeship scheme, and in order for all the students to get the most out of the course, they will become actively involved within a variety of roles and the day to day working of our football club and community programme. Exeter City FC Football in the Community Trustwill provide the opportunity for all learners to undertake tasks that are relevant and that will support their studies.

The educational element of the programme is delivered one day per week, and is for 16-18 year old girls and boys. The programme length is determined following a short work trial and induction with Exeter City FC Football in the Community Trust. All the students will receive a training kit and a minimum of 7 qualifications; these being:-


1) NVQ Level 2 in Sports Recreation, Allied Occupations & Activity Leadership;

2) Child Welfare / Safeguarding;

3) Emergency First Aid / Health & Safety;
4) Key Skills in Application of Number Level 1;
5) Key Skills in Communication Level 1;
6) Sports Leaders UK - Community Sports Leader Award; and
7) 1st4Sport Technical Certificate - Employment & Industry Awareness

The Apprentice will receive a minimum of £95 per week after the agreed work trial, the Apprentice will also be given a contract of appointment once the satisfactory work trial and induction have been completed.

The course is totally FREE OF CHARGE and to apply, students are required to attend a short work trial bringing along their National Insurance number, their full home address, date of birth and an emergency contact number. We will also need the student's previous qualifications but there is no minimum requirement for acceptance onto the course.
