With the Jamie Mackie saga now over, the dashing striker heading down the A38 in exchange for a healthy wad of cash, City can now concentrate on the business in hand and a tricky trip to fellow promotion-chasers Forest Green. Adam Stansfield was given the nod for the visit of Oxford last Sunday, and he repaid the faith shown in him by notching both goals and producing an all-action display as City enjoyed a comfortable evening in front of the Setanta cameras. Paul Tisdale will be more than tempted to name an unchanged starting eleven for the trip to Gloucestershire, especially given the lacklustre display from the second string in the Devon Bowl on Tuesday night. Jon Richardson returns from suspension and could resume with a place on the bench.
Forest Green was a name on many peoples' lips as a dark horse for this season. A highly-rated manager in Jim Harvey has assembled a squad built to take on the bigger players in the league, the lynchpin being Stuart Fleetwood. Signed from Hereford in the summer, Fleetwood has been a goal machine this term, well on course to notch anything up to 50 goals. He gave Rovers fans a boost this week by turning down a big money move to Crewe. A familiar face in the home line-up, albeit mostly appearing this season from the bench, is Les Afful - the diminuitive wide man now in his second season at the New Lawn following his release by City.
Last season's match was an unhappy one for the travelling band of supporters as City went down to their first ever defeat against Forest Green - two goals from corners by Jon Hardiker sandwiching an Adam Stansfield strike. Earlier this season saw City squander a 3-1 lead to draw 3-3.
