Match Preview - Torquay United (A) - Blue Square Premier Playoff 2nd Leg - 5/5/08
A dreadful (understatement of the year) linesman's decision, more than a whiff of handball about the winner, Tim Sills extremely lucky to avoid a red card...it's no use crying over spilt milk as the record books show that City go into the second leg of the Playoffs against Torquay 2-1 down. City have been here before - a 1-0 defeat against Oxford last season left Paul Tisdale's side with a mountain to climb. The boys in red 'n' white scaled that mountain last season however, so Tisdale will not have allowed heads to drop in the City camp. As far as selection goes, Tisdale's major decisions may concern the formation (two up front?) and in goal, where a mis-kick by Paul Jones (who was otherwise excellent) gifted Torquay the winner.
Torquay will naturally have been heartened by gaining a victory in a match in which they were under the cosh throughout, and as a result Paul Buckle may look to keep things the way they were.
One thing is for sure, this Bank Holiday lunchtime fixture will be a cracker as both sides chase the dream of another Wembley Final.
