Billy became manager Alex Inglethorpe's first summer signing in 2005 when he snapped the left-back up a free transfer from Kidderminster Harriers.
The player was well known to Alex, having previously played for Leyton Orient, having progressed via their youth scheme as a trainee to make his debut during the 2000-01 season.
Signed a full contract with Orient in July 2001 and went on to make nearly 80 league outings for the Club. Moved to Kidderminster midway through last season, but only featured in a handful of matches in the struggling team that eventually suffered relegation.
Billy's first spell at St James' Park may have ended with defeat at Wembley but he was soon on the move to Dario Gradi's then-League One side Crewe after making 88 appearances for the Grecians.
Almost three years later and after 71 appearances for Crewe Billy was back in the red and white of Exeter for the 2010/11 season.
His first season following his return to Devon saw him back 31 appearances for Paul Tisdale's men.
