Exeter City captain Matt Taylor arrived at the club from Paul Tisdale's former side Team Bath in July 2007.
He had just the one season with the students, having moved to them in the summer of 2006 after three seasons with Burscough, one with Matlock, one with Guiseley and half a season with Hucknall Town, but not as an outfield player, but a goalkeeper.
Played in goal in Burscough's 2003 FA Trophy final win over Tamworth at Villa Park.
Matt, was formerly a member of the England Universities side that won the 2006 British University Games football title. Signed an extension to his contract in December 2007 and continued to improve in the following seasons.
As well as a habit of grabbing vital goals Matt also captained the side during their first season in League One and scored as they stayed up on a dramatic final day.
Matt won Exeter City's Player of the Season in 2007/08 and again in 2009/10
