The Boss on Monday morning
I caught up with manager Paul Tisdale on his way to the Cat & Fiddle early this morning and firstly asked him about Saturday's game against Millwall, "I was very pleased with the game in terms of the clean sheet and that may have been down to one or two saves from Paul Jones, who was excellent I have to say. It was the performance I needed. The result was important and it was very nice to get a clean sheet although Jones was a little more used than I would have wanted. It was a fantastic performance."
I then asked him about the coming week regarding injured players and Tuesday's friendly game against the Royal Marines. "Well it's good news on all the injured players, Dean Moxey and Neil Saunders will start training next Monday, they have obviously missed out on a lot of pre-season but it will be great to get them back. Ben Watson, Chris Shephard and Scott Bennett all start training today and hopefully they will all be involved tomorrow evening in the game. I expect to play Andy Marriott, Bertie Cozic, Craig McAllister, Steve Basham, Jack Oberstellar and Liam Sercombe amongst others in that game. I'm looking forward to it, I hoping it will be a good game and it is such a worthwhile cause. Hopefully it will capture our supporters imagination"
Finally I asked how preparations are going for the trip to Darlington. " I think we all all raring to go, everybody is really up for it,we've been preparing for it for weeks now and I think the players just want to get on with it. No doubt it is going to be a really tough game but they all will be and this is what we are in the Football League for, to test ourselves. We've not even talked about the Southampton game, we won't do that until next Monday morning. Hopefully we will get a good following in the North East, I know it''s a long journey but I hope the lad's will make it worthwhile for all our supporters."
