Tis on Monday
John Fournier had a brief chat very early on Monday morning with Paul Tisdale
JF: A poor performance at Rushden in the Trophy Paul?
PT: It was John, we were second best all over the pitch and the players have got to live with themselves after that. We defended poorly and created little and we will have to adress that before Sunday's game against Oxford United.
JF: Jon Richardson was sent off, did you agree with that decision?
PT: I didn't have a good view of it but if he touched him then he had to go.
JF: That gives you even more of a defensive headache for the weekend?
PT: Yes, we might have to bring somebody in, maybe on a short-term basis, although Danny Seaborne is available again which is great news.
JF: Will Danny play for the reserves tomorrow afternoon against Bournemouth?
PT: Yes, hopefully that game will be on after all the rain because there are a few needing a game. Andy Taylor should play, Adam Stansfield, Richard Logan, Lee Elam and Jamie Mudge will all be involved along with the rest of the squad. Andy Marriott should make his comeback from his toe injury as well.
JF: I understand the last week has been very hard work for the management and coaching staff, Matt Gill resigned the captaincy?
PT: It's been a turbulent week, Matt announced that on Thursday and I asked him to reconsider. On Saturday morning I asked him again and he said he wanted to concentrate on his game so we gave the armband to Wayne Carlisle, it's something I will have to have a look at. Danny Seaborne was going to be vice-captain at the start of the season before he got injured and George Friend has done it as well.
JF: What's the transfer latest?
PT: No real change, we are hopeful about bringing a couple in but it's a case of wait and see.
