Paul Tisdale spoke to the press after the 1-1 draw with Southampton

"I think we deserved that draw and I think between the equaliser and the final whistle, we probably had the flow of the game and the impetus.

If someone was going to score a goal then I would like to have thought it was going to be us.

I think we could have come away with a win. Bertie made a lovely opportunity for himself there at the end and their keeper is one of the best in this league and that is what you get, a wonderful save.

I think it was a fair result, we've come off with a point and I am not too unhappy.

It demonstrates again that we are competing with the very best in this league.

We have drawn two games in the last two weeks against very good teams and showed a real resilience, which we have had to work on.

For Matt's goal it was a very well executed corner and a very good finish. It was a very good delivery, bang on his target. Matt is certainly the one you want to be there when it arrives. Sometimes there is no shame to stick in the middle and attack it.

It was a battling performance from us. It is a nice trait to have, not losing games, being competitive and staying in them and we had that today.

Today was a day for being very together and working very hard as a team and they did that. It needed a sensible, considered, pragmatic performance.

I think we are well acquainted with the level we are playing at it is now about using that knowledge and improving our performance.

It is going to be a very interesting final part of the season."
