Tisdale - Very Disappointed Dressing Room

Posted on: Thu 18 Feb 2010

Paul Tisdale spoke to the press following the 1-0 loss at Millwall yesterday

"It is so disappointing to have conceded the late goal and we came very close to getting a good result.

I thought we could win it when we made the substitution and bought Stuart Fleetwood on. I could see us scoring a goal. The game plan was evident and it gave us a chance.

Andy Marriott had an excellent game, he really did. And the back four were great, they were really fantastic.

And they are going to have to do that week-in week-out and we will get our fair share of what we need.

Millwall vs Exeter City002
Marriott was on fine form

Our lads were adamant it wasn't a foul that led to the goal but maybe the referee saw something that no one else did. Matt Taylor is astounded; he has no idea why it was given as a foul.

It looked like he won the ball. He didn't dive in, leave the ground or clatter the man he just got to the ball first. I don't know how that is a problem.

It was a very, very disappointed dressing room.

It is hard to lift a dressing room when they walk in. it is not a day for anything other than sympathising with how they feel, how I feel and how everyone feels and moving onto the next one really.

We have to take all the positives from the game and there are plenty.

I did say to the players 'great effort' but we have to be objective about this. We won't play many teams as strong as Millwall between now and the end of the season.

I am proud of them and gutted we haven't got a point today to show for our efforts."
