Well the ECFC Work Party Eleven disgraced the good name of Exeter City and football with a rather disjointed display against Exeter Picture House Cinema. After winning the trophy last season City found themselves on the back foot after they scored four own goals in the first 13 minutes, Steve Larne set the opposition on their way heading into his own net, this was followed up by Steve Moxey turning an attempted clearance into the back of the net, goalkeeper Adrian Gibb then got into the act by to spooning the next two goals over the line.
A fifth goal soon followed but undaunted City fought back with Phil Priestley scoring the goal of the game from distance with a scorching shot. The half time team talk was getting heated with players disgusted with the player/manager's 'let's give up now attitude' but the second half proved he was right!
6-1 down in the 46th minute Adrian Sproston popped up with a classic back post finish to keep the City still hoping. The misery continued and was only lightened by a top penalty by Harry Burd (son of the Plymouth Argyle groundsman), the final whistle from referee City Blue confirmed a 10 - 3 defeat.....the cup went to Picture House and the blame was firmly laid at the feet of Graham Kirk....oh well there's always next year!

The City team (in purple) hold their defensive line

Was this one of the many own goals?
