YOUNG STOPPER CHRISTY PYM, along with teammate Matt Grimes, graduated from the Academy into the first-team when he was offered a pro contract at the end of the 2012/13 season.

Following the departure of Rhys Evans in the summer of 2013, Pym was effectively promoted to the position of understudy to Artur Krysiak for the City first-team.

He had been involved in first-team affairs before being offered a pro contract, as he tended the bench as a 17-year-old on a trip to Burton Albion in February 2013 while Evans took position between the sticks in place of the injured Krysiak.

As well as playing a major role in the Grecians’ march to the quarter-final of the Under-21 Premier League Cup, Pym was handed his first senior for Exeter City in 2013/14 as they defeated Southend United at Roots Hall.  The youngster played nine times for the first team in his maiden campaign and entered the 2014/15 season as the first choice between the posts. Christy was sidelined following a hand operation for a large part of the 2015/16 season, but returned in time to be Bobby Olejnik's deputy when James Hamon went out on loan.
