Exeter City snapped up striker John O'Flynn from Barnet in July 2010 after he had been on trial at Steve Coppell's Bristol City.

The 28-year-old Irish striker had scored 15 goals for the Bees in all competitions in the previous season. O'Flynn originally started at Peterborugh as a youngster before joining Cork City, where he spent 6 years at the start of his career scoring 68 goals in 138 appearances, winning the League of Ireland and the FAI Cup.

He then joined Barnet for an undisclosed fee in September 2008 where he scored 29 goals in 63 League Two starts for the Underhill side before making the move to Devon.

The start to his City career went well and O'Flynn enjoyed a solid first season as the Grecians just missed out on the League One Play Offs. Injuries hampered his 2011/12 campaign but a full pre-season meant he began the 2012/13 career in fine form.
