Striker Liam McAlinden joined the Grecians in May following his release by Championship club Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 22-year-old front-man spent spells on loan at Crawley Town and Shrewsbury last season.

After nine years in the academy at Molineux, Liam turned pro with Wolves in 2010 and made his first appearances for the club in a 2-1 defeat to Burnley in 2013. He went onto make 10 appearances for Wolves the following season as they were promoted back to the Championship. McAlinden got five goals that campaign, but three of those came while he was on loan to fellow League One side Shrewsbury Town. He strikes for Wolves were against Walsall and MK Dons.
Though he was born in Cannock, Staffordshire, Liam represented Northern Ireland at under-21 level (qualifying through his grandfather) before switching allegiance to the Republic of Ireland, thanks to his parents, in 2014.

He made his first start for Exeter City against Hartlepool United this season – a game in which he also scored his first goal for the club.
