📝 Match Preview: Port Vale vs City

All you need to know ahead of Tuesday's trip to Vale Park

Just now

Exeter City round-off January with a midweek trip to Vale Park to face Port Vale on Tuesday, January 28 in a 7:45pm kick-off in EFL Sky Bet League Two.

The Grecians are 11 unbeaten in the league and have had a great January so far, picking up three wins and a draw in the league to keep them in second place.

Ahead of the match, captain Jake Taylor is pleased with the Grecians current form and is now looking to push on. "We've been on a really good run and confidence is high." said Jake. "It's important to build on that. Any game at this stage of the season will be tough. They are a good team and their home record is really good."

"We've been playing some good stuff so we will be high in confidence and looking to pick up three points."

GRECIAN TRAVEL

The coach will depart from Unit 1 nightclub at 1:15pm for a fare of £35.

Please click here to find out more.

BY ROAD

Use the M5 and follow the M5 and M6. At junction 15, of the M6, take the exit to Stoke on Trent. Follow A500 until the A527 Tunstall/Burslem exit, where you take the A527 towards Tunstall/Burslem.

At the next island just past the Price Kensington factory turn right for Burslem town centre. Continue on this road up the hill, crossing another island and into Burslem town centre. Continue straight on over the traffic lights at the crossroads and then take the first road on the left which takes you down to the ground.

BY RAIL

Longport Railway Station is the closest to the Vale Park ground, but is a good 30-minute walk away and is not well served by trains, unlike Stoke On Trent station which is. Therefore most fans end up at Stoke On Trent railway station, which is over four miles away from the stadium and then take a taxi up to the ground (around £8).

On return, there is no train that will get you back that evening after the game, so an overnight stay would be advised.

PUBS/FOOD

According to footballgroundguide.com, near the away turnstiles is a club bar called the Vale Social. Away fans are admitted but this is at a cost of £2 per person, with under-18s and over-60s going free. Most pubs in the town are for home fans only, including the closest pub to the ground The Vine, but the Bull’s Head welcomes away fans.
