As Exeter's leading health and wellbeing charity CITY Community Trust is standing by its values and has 30 runners taking part in this Sunday's Great West Run – the largest team from one single organisation to take part in this year’s race.
CITY Community Trust (CCT), working in partnership with Exeter City Football Club, delivers health, education, wellbeing and physical activity programmes to more than 45,000 members of the community every year.
To reflect the programmes they deliver in the community and to raise awareness of their work, the charity has put forward a team to take part in the forthcoming half marathon event. As well as raising support and funds for the charity, they are also supporting two other causes – Exeter Sports Fund and Children’s Hospice South West.
The team is made up of CCT staff and charity partners, including staff from Exeter College who work on the charity’s education programme and participants
of some of its wellbeing programmes.

Jamie Vittles, Head of Community for CCT, said: "As a charity we are passionate about promoting health and wellbeing across the greater Exeter area and what better way to do this than entering a team into the Great West Run
"We’ve got runners of all standards taking part, from people who compete regularly, to others who have taken part in one of our wellbeing sessions in Exeter. The Great West Run gives us the perfect opportunity to show that as a charity we stand by our values."

CITY Community Trust, formerly known as Football in the Community, has delivered health and wellbeing related activities across the greater Exeter area for more than 20 years. They have recently changed our name to reflect the range of activities it delivers. The change was announced by the charity's patron, comedian Ade Edmondson.
