📝 VACANCY: Groundsperson

Exeter City Football Club are looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Groundsperson to work within our busy grounds team.

We are a supporter owned club through the Exeter City Supporters' Trust and under Trust ownership Exeter City has gone from strength to strength.

This position is an exciting opportunity for an Groundsperson with experience in preparation and maintenance on sportsgrounds with a minimum NVQ 2 in relevant grounds maintenance and spraying certificates qualification (NPTC PA1, PA2 and PA6).

The role will include preparing and maintaining our pitches with applications of fertilizers under the management of the Head Groundsperson. You will work as part of a small team marking out and setting up pitches, working with tractors and mowers and ensuring fence and grass areas around the stadium are maintained.

As part of the grounds team you will ensure general maintenance of the workshop area and ensure all tools and equipment are safely stored after use. All maintenance issues must be reported promptly to the Head Groundsperson and a firm understanding of Health & Safety regulations is required.

Candidates will need to enjoy working outdoors and have a strong work ethic and the ability to work unsupervised. Excellent communication skills are essential as part of the grounds team the successful candidate will need to develop proactive working relationships with the coaching staff and management.

An enthusiastic, flexible and committed approach is essential to the preparation and maintenance of the stadium pitch and training ground to ensure a first-class level.

This is a permanent, full-time position and the working pattern will usually be 7.00am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday in addition to weekend work to accommodate home matches. A day off in the week will be authorised in lieu of matchdays worked and this will be agreed in line with the business needs with the Head Groundsperson.

A full UK driving licence is essential and the role and will be based at St James Park and the Cliff Hill Training Ground.
