This would precede loan spells with Tiverton Town and Dorchester Town, spells which would turn out to be key for the youngster's development.

After impressing with Dorchester, Jordan was recalled to St James Park and began to feature in the match day squads, with his first appearance since the Oxford match in 2016, coming over a year later when he came on against Mansfield Town to help City to a 1-1 draw.

That's when Jordan's City career really began to take off, particualry when he was thrown into the starting XI away from home at high-flying Luton Town. An assured display from the youngster saw the Grecians slip to a narrow 1-0 defeat as their injury-hit side gave more than a good account of themselves.

From there on in Jordan would feature reguarly for the remainder of the 2017/18 campaign, and the youngster even helped himself to a couple of goals as he helped City to a fourth place finish.

His displays then resulted in City receving a substantial undisclosed fee from Championship side Preston North End as Jordan departed to continue his development.
