Brought in as Matt Taylor’s right-hand man, Eric Kinder brings a wealth of coaching experience to the club.

Eric played non-league football for Accrington Stanley, Morecambe and Clitheroe as a central defender. Following that he went on to play locally before stepping into coaching and that came as a youth coach with Preston North End, where he met manager Matt Taylor who was just 15.

Eric then left to become under-16s coach with Blackburn Rovers where he spent six years. After impressing as a coach Eric then moved further north to take up a head of youth role with Carlisle United. After spending a significant amount of time there he returned to Ewood Park as under-23s head coach.

His time with Rovers would then come to an end as he opted to make the move to Ireland to become assistant manager at Limerick. Five months work with the Premier League would follow before he received a call from City’s new manager regarding the assistant manager vacancy at St James Park.
