Exeter City Academy graduate Ben Seymour made his debut for Grecians against Coventry City in the Carabao Cup in August 2019, and then his league debut, shortly after, coming on as a substitute he won a penalty in a 2-2 draw against Leyton Orient. He then followed this up with a first league start for the Grecians against Port Vale.

Ben has impressed with his goal scoring pursuits in the youth teams and on loan. He netted plenty of goals during a loan spell at Southern League side Bideford in the 2017/18 campaign and continued that form with goals for Dorchester Town the following year.

Ben was chosen to wear the number nine shirt this season, after it came out of retirement after nine seasons. The shirt had been retired in honour of our much-loved striker Adam Stansfield, who sadly passed in 2010. The shirt was given to Ben as he was an academy graduate and that fitted into the philosophy of the Adam Stansfield Foundation, which was created with the aim of helping to give young people the unique opportunity to develop life skills through the power of football.

Ben describe the moment as a 'dream come true'.
