Captain Jake Taylor is in his second spell at St James Park having joined Exeter City on a permanent basis on January 25, 2016.

Jake has been a regular in the City line-up over the past two seasons making more than 100 appearances for the club during that time.

Most of those appearances have come in central midfield but Jake has also played right back, in the No. 10 role and out wide on the right.

The twice-capped Welsh international returned to the Grecians after a previous loan spell that lasted for the majority of the 2011/12 campaign.

He joined Reading at the age of eight and made 31 appearances for the Royals having graduated from their academy.

Jake scored his first goal since returning to the club when he netted in a 4-1 win at Notts County.

The 2017/18 season saw Jake net eight goals in 51 appearances and also topped the club’s chart for number of assists with 12.

His debut season as captain under Matt Taylor saw the midfielder remain a constant in the City midfield as he turned out 49 times and netted on three occasions.
