Randell joined the Grecians on January 18, 2019, on a permanent transfer from Premier League side Watford.

He had spent the previous year on loan at Wycombe Wanderers.

Randell arrived with a proven track record having played six games for the Chairboys last season as they were promoted from League Two and 23 games for them this campaign in League One. 

The winger made his City debut shortly after joining when he was introduced as a substitute against Newport County away from home. As the rest of the season progressed, Randell began to find his feet and excited fans with his speed and ability out wide.
