All you need to know for City's trip to the LCI Rail Stadium on Saturday

Exeter City's second away match of the League Two season sees them make the relatively short trip up the M5 to face Cheltenham Town. The Grecians have won their last four matches against the Robins.

THE LCI RAIL STADIUM (GL52 5NA)

The LCI Rail Stadium has a capacity of 7,066 with a mixture of seating and terracing. All away supporters will be in the Hazlewoods stand which in all-seater stand located behind the away goal.

GRECIAN TRAVEL

Grecian Travel coaches will depart from Unit 1 Nightclub at 10am on Saturday, August 12. Ticket prices are as follows:

Members: £19

Non-members: £22

Other pick-up points include: Honiton Road Park & Ride (by Miller & Carter), Cullompton Services (junction 28), Tiverton (junction 27), Taunton (junction 25). Any other pick-ups need to be booked by prior arrangement.

BY ROAD 

Leave the M5 at Junction 11 turning right towards Cheltenham. Go across first roundabout - GCHQ is on your left. Turn left at the next roundabout, into Princess Elizabeth Way. Go straight over the next roundabout. Keep on up this road, and you will come to a big roundabout, where you will see a McDonalds on the corner. Go straight across this roundabout and continue up this road going over a double mini roundabout. Keep going for about 300 yards and then turn right into Swindon Lane. Go over the level crossing and straight over the next roundabout (signposted Prestbury) passing the race course on your left. Turn right into Albert Road (signposted Gloucestershire University) and at the bottom at the roundabout turn left into Prestbury Road. The ground is signposted from here.

BY RAIL

Trains from Exeter St Davids to Cheltenham Spa run either once or twice an hour with no changes. The journey takes about an hour and 45 minutes. However, the train station is over two miles from the ground and will take 45 minutes to walk.

PARKING

Car parking is limited at Whaddon Road but you can pre-book a car park space on a matchday by contacting the ticket office on 01242 573558 (choosing option 1). Matchday parking does cost £5 per vehicle. Street parking in the immediate vicinity is also restricted.

TICKETS

Tickets are currently on sale for this game and can be purchased via the following link, visiting St James Park in person or by phoning 01392 411243. 

The match is not all ticket and there are no advance discounts.

Ticket prices are as follows:

Adults: £21

OAP (65+): £15

18 and under/full-time students: £7

Wheelchair tickets permit wheelchair user and carer (free). Wheelchair users pay the concession price no matter what category they fall into.

PUBS/FOOD

Cheltenham Town have a sports bar, which is open to everyone and has a widescreen TV with hot food served on Saturdays between midday and 2.45pm with light snacks from 5pm to 10.30pm. Within the ground you can purchase non-alcoholic beverages, burgers, pies and chips.

Outside the ground the Kemble Brewery Inn – a 15-minute walk from the ground on Fairview Street – is recommended. This pub which is listed in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide serves up to six real ales. Also around a 10-minute walk away are the Sudeley Arms and The Conservatory on Prestbury Road on the outskirts of the town centre. There is even a decent fish & chip shop situated in-between the two.  

LAST TRIP TO CHELTENHAM

City recorded a 3-1 victory on their last visit to Cheltenham with Lee Holmes opening the scoring and David Wheeler adding two more after the hosts had equalised. 

TOTAL DISTANCE

The distance between St James Park and the Whaddon Road is 117 miles, taking just over two hours to drive.
