Saturday's match saw the Grecians put five past Notts County at St James Park, moving us within the final ten goals of the landmark 1000th Goal under Supporters' Trust ownership.

Having taken a strong lead midway through the first half, City’s advantage was halved on the stroke of half time when Enzo Boldewijn curled in a fine solo effort. Fears of a potential second half comeback by the visitors were eased with the Grecians producing a strong attacking showing following the break.
And their two goal lead was restored just before the hour mark. Jayden Stockley flicked a long ball forward into the path of Lee Holmes who, after some excellent trickery, brought out a fine save from Ross Fitzsimmons.
From the resulting corner Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain was adjudged to have handled in the area and, despite opposition attempts to put him off, Sweeney coolly dispatched the resulting spot kick to double his tally for the afternoon. Sweeney would go on to have the opportunity to score his first career hat trick from another penalty, but would drag his effort wide of the goalkeepers’ right post.
