Manager gives details of defender’s injury
Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale confirmed that a foot injury to Jordan Moore-Taylor that was sustained in midweek is likely to keep him out for as long as three months.The defender broke his fifth metatarsal in his right foot in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tie at Coventry –precisely the same injury that he suffered in the pre-season tour of Brazil, which kept him out of the first six fixtures.
The recurrence of the injury means that it will take longer than the incident to get back to fitness, meaning he is unlikely to see action until the New Year.
And the City manager was disappointed to add Jordan to a growing list of casualties in the past fortnight.
“It is never a good sign when someone hobbles off a football pitch and has a cast on their foot and has to walk on crutches,” said Tis. “Jordan has fractured the same spot that he did in Brazil.
“We are going to have to be very careful this time around and not rush him back. We’re looking at a lengthy period – I would think longer than he was out for last time, and probably up to three months if all goes well.
“It’s really disappointing because we have not got our best team on the pitch that often. We came very close to it against Tranmere, and we’ve since lost a few players and we’re back to bare bones again.
“Jordan is obviously very upset as well, but that’s the life of a footballer and you get used to it. We’re going to have to adapt again.”
