Former Grecian Kevin had been helping out after the departure of Scott Brown to Rotherham and was offered the position after impressing behind-the-scenes and at interview.
Kevin had two spells with the Grecians, starting his career at St James Park and amassing over 200 appearances for the club. He was a key part of the City team that won the Fourth Division Championship in 1990 and became a fan favourite for his performances as City went unbeaten at St James Park that season.
The shot-stopper would go on to amass over 700 appearances in a career that saw him play at every professional level in England including 38 appearances for Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
Recently Kevin had been managing Okehampton and is looking forward to returning to the professional game with the team where his career started.
