Remembrance at the Park

A moment's silence for the fallen

Exeter City would like to invite fans to observe a moment of remembrance for the fallen ahead of the Fleetwood Town visit on Saturday.

Remembrance Sunday falls this weekend, and tomorrow we are once again delighted to welcome members of the Royal Marines, Royal British Legion and their Standard Bearers to St James’ Park.  This year we also welcome the County Chairman who will read the Exhortation.

The Royal Marines will be running a collection before the game, at half-time, and at the exits.  Please give generously to the Poppy Appeal.

Please be aware of the order of service in remembrance of those that have lost their lives in service for our country.

14.40: Players will leave the field following their warm-up.
14.45: University Cheerleaders will enter the pitch and perform a routine, re-assembling to players’ tunnel for teams to enter the field.
14.55: The Royal British Legion Standard Bearer parade will begin in front of Block I of the Flybe Stand, and they will position themselves on the centre circle either side of halfway line.
14.56: Sponsors will enter the pitch from the Flybe stand.  Players will be led onto the pitch by the referee from the Stagecoach stand, and will proceed with the pre-match handshake.  Captains and match officials shall pose for photographs with sponsors.
As handshakes and photos are completed, the ‘Last post’ will be sounded as the referee pulls the players together to group around the centre circle.
The referee will blow his whistle to signal the beginning of a period of silence in memoriam of those that have perished.  The Exhortation will be led by the County Chairman.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
