Opportunities to get involved in the Grecians’ media content

We are looking for individuals to assist Exeter City’s media output in a variety of ways.

As a club, there is large amount of media that we generate, and we are always looking to improve the offering that we provide to our supporters.  If you would like to be involved – whether that’s creative writing, graphic design, video production, photography, or just contributing some fresh and imaginative ideas – Exeter City would like to hear from you.  We intend to arrange a small team of skilled and dedicated individuals that can assist for the 2014/15 season.

As well as being under the microscope as a Football League Club, we also have an under-21 side that made great waves in the Under-21 Premier League Cup, an under-18 team that won the Youth Alliance South West division for the first time this season and provided another four professionals to the first team this summer, and Academy that regularly takes on some of the country’s top sides.  Our Ladies side secured their highest-ever league position this season, our Football in the Community charity engages over 50,000 people in the local area every year, and our commercial and corporate reach into the city is growing all the time with hundreds of sponsors and affiliations.  This summer, our club returns to Brazil for a meeting with Fluminense, a century after Exeter became the first opponents of the Seleção.

Last season, we also celebrated our tenth anniversary of being majority-owned by Exeter City Supporters’ Trust, and we also have a number of other Grecian Groups that provide superb practical support to the club in whatever ways they can.

Media and communications are changing at a rapid pace in the world of football, and we have a range of mediums through which we share our news and messages.  As well as the club website, there are social media channels including Facebook, Twitter (a combined following of over 45,000), as well as Google+, Vine, Instagram, LinkedIn, ScribbleLive, Wildfire and YouTube.  We also run a premium audio-visual subscription service in Grecian Player, as well as having a traditional mouthpiece in the matchday programme and commercial and supporter e-newsletters.  We enjoy a close and trusting relationship with our local newspaper, the Express & Echo, as well as working with other local, regional and national newspapers and broadcasters including BBC and Sky Sports.

What’s in it for you?  The chance to gain valuable experience in a busy and competitive environment, and a chance to put something back into your club.  It could also lead to matchday media opportunities where possible, along with looking great on your CV!

If you think that you have skills and abilities which you could bring to the table at Exeter City, please email media@exetercityfc.co.uk with any information that you think would be relevant.

No previous experience is necessary, but we aim to set our standards high and would like to work with people that can demonstrate attention to detail and pride in what they do.  We’ll look forward to hearing from you.
