Second-year scholar nominated for cracking strikeExeter City second-year scholar Alex Byrne has been shortlisted for LFE’s Goal of the Month award for his corker of a strike against Portsmouth.
The under-18 player hit a rasping drive to net Exeter’s fourth goal in a 7-0 rout against a young Pompey squad at the Cat & Fiddle.
Receiving in the centre circle from a throw-in, Byrne took a couple of touches before drilling a left-footed effort into the best part of 35 yards.
