City GPS fundraiser on track

14 October 2016

Appeal has raised £5,700 of the £9,000 target so far

Exeter City fans, supporter groups and sponsors have gone the extra mile to support the Club’s appeal to help fund 30 GPS fitness tracking kits for the first team.

GPS Tracking is paramount in keeping up to date with the evolving science of training and monitoring of the squad. The equipment enables Ade Saunderson’s physio team to ensure the squad is not under or over trained, and gives the best opportunity to maintain a balance between training and recovery, reducing the risk of overuse injuries and monitoring improvements in the performance of players.

Ade Saunderson, Exeter City Physio said: “This equipment will help us to monitor work done in training, matches and player position on the pitch, helping to optimise fitness and recovery, improve performance and reduce injury. The equipment will put us in line with other teams in our league and above – thank you for all the generous donations so far

The appeal has raised £5,700 of the £9,000 target at the time of writing, with over £3,300 being kindly donated from individual supporters and supporter groups, and £1,500 being put up by the club.

Julian Tagg, Exeter City Football Club chairman said “Once again we are delighted and overwhelmed by the response, support and generosity of our fans and supporters’ groups. The GPS kits are vital in the analysis, and development of the playing squad going forward. The club would like to extend its appreciation to everyone who has donated so far

If you are interested in sponsoring a GPS kit for a named player or players, your name will appear in the matchday programme along with other kit sponsors, otherwise donations towards the total amount, however big or small are appreciated.

Elaine Davis, Supporters’ Trust board member and Grecian Goal fundraiser said: “The generous donations we have received so far will help us get the very best from our players. We are getting so close to reaching the target, so please get in touch if you would like to support the fundraiser
